The Manchurian Candidate

I guess if I just wanted to be controversial, I could praise Donald Trump for his valiant efforts to secure a peace settlement in Ukraine.

So what if he forces Zelensky to give the US free access to the country’s valuable mineral assets – a small price to pay for the enormous help that America has given Ukraine over the past three years.

So what if he consents to Vladimir Putin extending Russia’s borders by allowing him to steal a third of Ukraine - it’s been destroyed by three years of fighting and is of no use to anyone.

And so what if he agrees for Putin to take control of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant – it’s near to the border and Russia needs more electricity.

But to do that, to come out in support of Trump would be akin to siding with the Devil.

A half of Americans do support him. They think he is some sort of Messiah. But the other half, the sane half, together with much of the rest of the western world, are asking is Donald Trump just stupid or is he evil . . . or is he a Russian agent.

If he’s not stupid, and he certainly comes across as the stupidest, most idiotic, ignorant, despicable human being that has ever walked on Earth, then he is very clever. But I cannot believe that this could be possible; that he knows what he is doing and that he is actually playing the rest of us for fools. If this was the case, he would need to be monumentally intelligent and we would need to be equally unintelligent.

He must, therefore, be stupid but that makes 50% plus of Americans, the ones that voted for him, even stupider. Is that possible?

So, perhaps he is a Russian agent. Not so stupid as it sounds. Who better to recruit to your side than someone who is untouchable, someone who is above the law and, therefore, someone who cannot be challenged. No longer the turd in the White House, but the mole, sleeper, agent – call him what you like.
